Aruna Purohit, The Woman Entrepreneur and Role Icon of Maharashtra. Whether its her participation in “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” which has rendered Chandrapur as an example to emulate in the state of Maharashtra or her Solid Waste Management endeavor that has successfully employed 400 people and kindled fires (employment and thereby food and income) for this section of the population, she is the “Driving Force” on the social, economical and business front in Nagpur.
On the social front and her contribution to society, Aruna has taken the lead in promoting programmes on feminine hygiene, a neglected area in many urban and rural areas of India. She has organized Medical camps in the interiors of Maharashtra where paucity of doctors had rendered population susceptible to vagaries of nature and disease.
